So Artful Challenge - Book

June at SoArtful has suggested we do a book cover this week, the theme "A Child in the Woods" In retrospect, I think June intended the book title to be "A Child in the Woods", but I misunderstood and chose my own title. Sorry about that! The whole thing made me think of "A Girl of the Limberlost". Did anyone read that? Anyway, here's my effort, and thanks for looking!

  4. Bev, this is fantastic. The frame is perfect, the woodland scene beautiful and the little girl peeping out from the narrow tree trunk suggests a little bit of magic - or optical illusion - as to where the other half of her body is!! Best of all is the author's name. Wonderful work.

  6. I haven't read the book yet (I intend to someday), but I did see the movie, which was really good. Your book cover reminds me of the Secret Garden as well. Very beautiful! ~Lori
