Mixed Media Monday - Borrowed

MMM's challenge this week is "Borrowed" and I decided to go with "Borrowed Time". Seems like we're sometimes borrowing from tomorrow to get everything done today! My frame and elements are from Create Wings Designs, the young lady is (I think) from Art-E-Zine. Maybe the reason "borrowed time" came to mind is that my 17-year-old grandson from Oregon has been with me for a week. I have to say his youth and energy make me feel as if I'm living on borrowed time! It seems only yesterday I was trekking to Oregon to be present for his birth, and now he's 6 ft tall and driving. How did the years pass so quickly?

  1. Oh Bev,
This is beautiful...what a gorgeous piece!

I have to tell you that I had heard of the 3 Muses Challenge, but I had never seen it...AND I didn't know it was yours! Wow!
I also didn't realize that you are from Indiana...my husband is from Indianapolis although we are living in New Orleans.
Have a wonderful 4th of July!
    Hugs,
    Cindy

  2. Hi Bev,
Thanks so much for writing...especially when it's hard to get into your guest room!
I love bright colors in mixed media too...but, I'm finding that the shabby chic look is so prevalent in the
U.S. that most of the women like vintage and lace...
so, my blog has a mixture since I like everything! lol

    Hugs,
    Cindy

  3. This is beautiful, Bev, so soft and atmospheric and a perfect portray of the passage of time. The image is gorgeous.
(Tucker would have had to wait another year for his driver's licence here in Oz where kids have to be 17. After getting the licence they have to show "provisional" red and white P plates for two years during which time they are likely to lose points and licence for fairly trivial offences.)

  4. Oh, Bev, your piece is so very beautiful! And I know exactly what you mean about borrowed time! My little grand daughter, Lucy is 6 months old today and I know it will be no time until she's all grown up as well.

  5. Hi Bev..this is just so pretty and it really makes me rethink the phrase "beauty is wasted on youth". I think it should be "time is wasted on youth" My goodness it seems like I squandered an awful lot! :)
