A Journal Page

I recently treated myself to a set of pan pastels.   This journal page is one of my first efforts with these wonderfully fun little pots of color.   I have long looked for a method of getting color onto my journal pages without the pages buckling, and this seems to be the solution for me.   They don't dry out and they blend beautifully.   I was quite proud of my effort, until I opened the journal and realized I'd created this masterpiece UPSIDE DOWN!   "Dear Journal.....Mea Culpa...."

  1. Upside down or backwards it's still gorgeous...never heard of pan pastels do you use a fixative on them and how well does it work?I have a hard time with stick pastels because I'm left handed and I smear as I go.

  4. Hey Bev - I think you should write to the pan pastel manufacturers and ask for a commission. You have certainly created interest in them. I was lucky enough to see this first and I think it is beautiful - both face and those gorgeous, muted floral pieces. More please!!
