Take a Word - Hat

I have a collection of books illustrated by Harrison Fisher.  I love his hatted ladies.   I've used one book cover and the illustration of another here, and a few elements (credit to Oscraps Ophelia) to finish the page.   I've always envied women who wear hats well.  Wearing a hat makes me feel rather silly for some reason.  Too much country in this girl, I guess!   Thanks for stopping by!

  1. We don't wear hats in Brazil, maybe in the beach... So I have this frustration, I don't even know how to wear them!
Your collage is lovely and illustration you picked is so beautiful!

I am amazed she has had ONE husband wearing that hat, they wouldn't be able to get 'close!'
Your entry is so charming, Bev, love the vintage elements!

  4. Absolutely scrumptious. I wonder how those vintage ladies managed to hold their heads up high. The hat is nothing short of majestic and those beautiful, embroidered flowers are spectacular. I love everything about this lovely artpiece.

  8. Me too, Bev. I feel silly with a hat. Unless it's 40 degrees below zero. (which happens here) Then I don't feel silly at all. I just LOOK silly. This is lovely!

  15. I love wearing hats, but not the big kind. This is a gorgeous piece, Bev. I can't figure out how those ladies used to get in and out of carriages or through a doorway. Elegant look, though.
