Three Muses - Stripes

This week's challenge is Stripes at Three Muses.   I've combined a googled collection of stripes with a silhouette, filmy overlay and border that have been in my stash forever, with origins long forgotten.  This was fun, Ann.  Thanks!

Take a Word - Recipes

It was fun to create this collage of vintage recipes.  The lady with the sweet face holding the cake is my father's mother, as beautiful inside as out!!   Thank you for looking!

Three Muses - Trunk

There was a trunk in Grandma’s attic
Where we children used to play
It held bits of lace and “special things”
My Grandma used to say.

Life went on as it’s known to do
Time has passed on golden wings
Now my children play their games
Near the trunk of “special things”.

This old house is growing older
Still to its memories it clings
Soon another generation will play
Near Grandma’s “special things”.

The poem is original, credit for the trunk to Jenn U Designs, elements to CR Designs, and the lovely vintage image from the amazingly talented Elizabeth Golden . (Thank you, Elizabeth!)

Take a Word - Wrinkles

I guess I could have just used a self-image!   Seriously, these faces all seem to have such stories to tell of grief, pain, joy, trials, successes, and long and eventful lives.  This was an interesting challenge, Yvonne!

Three Muses - Journal Quote

Our challenge this week at Three Muses is to journal a quote.  I have copied a page from my journal, which contains a quote I SO believe to be true.  The image was sketched on the page of an old book.  Thanks for looking!

Three Muses - Sepia

Inspired by the lyrics of a song from "My Fair Lady".  All elements googled.    The lyrics in part are:

I have often walked
Down the street before,
But the pavement always
Stayed beneath my feet before.
All at once am I
Several stories high,
Knowing I'm on the street where you live.

(***NOTE***)  I apologize for posting this so early.  I intended to put it in draft form, and Blogger's new procedure tripped me up and it ended up being published.  I'm afraid to delete it.  I had a dreadful time posting it, and I may not be so lucky next time.  Why oh why can't Blogger leave well enough alone????)

Take a Word - Art

Bill issued this week's challenge at Take a Word, and asked us to portray what art means to us.   It makes me happy to "play" with art, and I chose this googled granny (altered), and easel painting (mine) to illustrate.  Thanks for stopping by!

Three Muses - Circles

I found this charming fellow in an old children's song book, and felt he deserved to be appreciated all over again!   Plus, I like the diet philosophy I found somewhere....especially at this time of year!   Thanks for stopping by.
