Sunday Postcard - Vintage

This little lady is my maternal grandmother when she was a young woman.  I remember her in later years in house dresses, and her hair twisted into a topknot pulled so tightly it made her eyebrows raise!

Take a Word - Hearts

A collage of many things.   Wouldn't it be nice to have a heart tree?   I borrowed a face from Modigliani for this piece and a clip art body, slightly altered.  The flowers are from Sharing Tubes.

Digital Whisper - John Lennon

I thought I'd search to see what Beatles songs John Lennon wrote, and was amazed to find he wrote over 100 songs!   His life cut short all too soon, he's another victim to the senseless deaths by gunfire in the U.S.

Three Muses - Music

Music is a thread in the fabric of our lives.  Simply hearing a certain song may transport us back to some special moment; it may cheer us up, or soothe in troubled times.  Here's to music!

Take a Word - Buttons and Bows

East is east and west is west
And the wrong one I have chose
Let's go where I'll keep on wearin'
Those frills and flowers and buttons and bows
Rings and things and buttons and bows
Don't bury me in this prairie
Take me where the cement grows
Let's move down to some big town
Where they love a gal by the cut o' her clothes
And I'll stand out
In buttons and bows
...From a Dinah Shore song of the same name.

Digital Whisper - Spectacles

This is a collage with a composite person.  Library background is from Pinterest, lady torso is from my stash, lady face from Itkupilli, spectacles googled, grunge overlay from my stash. Entered also in our composite person challenge at Digitalmania.

Gypsies, those mysterious and colorful people, have always fascinated me.   They used to camp near the river on my grandparents' farm when my mother was a child, and my grandfather loved to trade horses with them.
