I had fun with this one! The witch's body and bats are from Graphics Fairy, the witch's head is from Penniwig, and the house is from a photo of a parade float! I used Ulead lighting effect on the completed piece. Thank you for looking.

Mixed Media Monday - Metallica
Oh dear, what a fun time I had with this. Steampunk art seems to be the coming thing, so I decided to try some. The brass urn is googled, binoculars are from Fotalia; the face, wheels for the "steamwagon" and watch hands are from Jen U Designs; background and mask from Flergs at SBG; padlocks and keys from Tammara at Pixel Music; stars, "smokestack", and warped clock from Maya at SBG; and the spray can and spatula for the "steamwagon" are googled. What a great challenge! Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my madness!

Sunday Postcard - Mr. Right
This challenge stumped me at first, then I thought out of the box.....'way out of the box! In 40 B.C. Cicero was Mr. Right in the Roman Empire. He was a philosopher, statesman, lawyer, political theorist, and one of the greatest orators of his time. His words are still quoted today. How right can you be? The background is from Kubivet. Thank you for stopping by!

SatWo - The Photo Before
SatWo - Altered Photo
Our challenge was to alter a postcard or a photo. I wanted to try something different with this photo, so I experimented until it had an ethereal look, plopped a cityscape behind it, and had to add the obligatory touch of red! I know it's weird, but somehow I liked the effect. You can let me know what you think!

Mixed Media Monday - Time of Day
Beth hosted the challenge this week, and asked that we pick a time of day and depict it. It brought to my mind a kaleidoscope of images from morning birdsong to twilight, and I could not seem to settle on one! The result is this piece, which has many layers. It needs to be seen in close-up. Thank you for looking!
An award
My generous (and funny, and talented) blog friend, Rosie, has kindly gifted me with the Me-Me award. I'm to list 7 things about myself, and name 7 blog friends I'd like to receive the award. Below I'll list the 7 things, but I'll ask you to choose ANY 7 names from my favorite blog list, and I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised at the talent you'll find. And now for the seven things:
1. I'm the widow of a firefighter.
2. I have zero patience, and endless curiosity.
3. I went to a one-room school.
4. I'm three-quarters of a century old. (Yikes!)
5. I was a medical transcriptionist and regional supervisor.
6. I have a spicy (sometimes sarcastic) sense of humor.
7. My employees (hopefully fondly) used to call me "Old Ironpants"!

TGIF and Saturday Workout
I hope a zentangled elephant qualifies as a funny animal! He's from a coloring book page, and doodled by me. The little "passenger" is from Flickr Collage Images, and the umbrella is from Kubivet.
P.S. I just discovered the challenge at Saturdays Workout is zentangles, so I'll enter him there too! Thanks for looking.

Three Muses - Chaplin
I can't wait to see all the Charlies this week! This started with my own background, with an overlay of script, an overlay of a skyline in silhouette, and lastly part of a movie poster from "A Dog's Life". The Charlie vignettes are from other posters. I decided I'd been doing too many "zetti type" pieces, and it was time to do something with more substance! Thanks for looking.
