Three Muses - Lyric

My little sailor is extracted from a Jesse Wilcox Smith painting.  The lyrics are part of Garth Brooks' "The River".    Brooks has written some truly beautiful and profound lyrics, but this one is my favorite.   You might like to read the lyrics in entirety at  http://www.elyrics.net/read/g/garth-brooks-lyrics/the-river-lyrics.html    Thanks for your visit!

Bunnyland

This bit of silliness  is for the challenges at Collage Obsessions and Digital Whisper.  Both chose "Bunnies" for this week's challenge.   My bunny is a colorbook outline which I've filled with various papers from Donna Miller.  Grass and checkerboard path are by Fidlette.   Trees are by Maya at Scrapbookgraphics.  Sky is part of a paper from Finecrafted Designs. If you look carefully you will see the bunny appears to be inside a faint square.  I have no dreaming idea where this came from, but I've too much time invested in this piece to try to remove it!   Let the cybergremlins have their play, I say!!  Thanks for indulging me.

Take A Word - Blue and White

The image for this piece is extracted from a googled cameo broach.  Background is a blend of several.  Blue is my favorite color.   I find it peaceful and relaxing.   Thank you for visiting.  Comments are always appreciated.

Three Muses - Eggs

Eggs.  When I was a child, my mother raised chickens.  Each week we sold three or four 30-dozen cases of eggs...each egg collected, toted, cleaned and placed in cartons, then into the cases.  It was a never-ending task!    Today, when I buy a dozen eggs at the store, I have a true appreciation of the work it represents.   My "egg" in this piece is credit to Finecrafted Designs, some elements by Createwings Designs, and background is my own.  Thanks for your visit.

Take a Word - Tulips

Tulips are among the first signs of Spring, and always welcome.  I've featured them in a couple of art pieces recently, so I wanted to do something a bit different for this challenge.  Everything here is cybersurfed.   Thanks for stopping by.

Three Muses - Turquoise and Red

The snow is melting and there's a hint of Spring in the air, so my turquoise and red art is a Spring-oriented bit of fantasy.   I appreciate your visit and your comments.

The challenge at Digital Whisper is "Teapot" and I'm reminded of the ditty I learned when I was a child.  Thanks for stopping by!

Take a Word- Spring

Spring in my part of the world means tulips, daffodils and hyacinths; cherry blossoms, flowering crabapple, pear, and redbud trees, and the silence of winter is broken with the sound of birdsong.  Hardwoods are sprouting new green, the sunshine is warm, and the air has a rich, earthy smell.   It is worth the long and dreary winters to bask in the glory of Spring!   My Spring scene is a composite of 4 or more skies and backgrounds.  Credit for the cat to Irene Alexeeva.   Thank you for stopping by!

Digital Whisper - 5

This week's challenge at Digital Whisper is the number 5.   If you're wondering about what this entry is all about, I direct you to my muse, who led me to this rather strange result.  I have no idea what she had in mind!   Thanks for visiting!

Take a Word - Birds

This is a view I see outside my window every day, as sometimes 3 or 4 at a time the cardinals visit my bird feeder.  They are majestic and striking against the snow, and their quick, flicking movements are entertaining to watch.  When it's very cold, they fluff their feathers against the cold and appear plump and frowsy (is that a word?)!  This bit of art is very simplistic, but the cardinal seems to call for that!   Thanks for visiting.   Credits to Createwings Designs.
