Three Muses - Circus

When I was a child, the traveling circuses used to place their posters on rural barns far in advance of their appearances in the area.   I remember the excitement of seeing the posters, and the anticipation of their arrival.   So, for the circus challenge this week, I knew I just HAD to do a barn!   The barn, the posters, the crow, the clown and the wagonwheel were all "harvested" separately from cyber-surfing to create this scene.  Thanks for visiting me here!

Take a Word - Mail Art

Marie asked me to host this week's mail art challenge.   Mail art is one of my favorite things to do, so it was a pleasure.   I regret to say I lost my notes re the credits.  Mea cul;pa!

Sunday Postcard - Amythest

Amythest IS my birthstone, and my favorite color.   It was fun to do this amythest fantasy!   Silhouette is  credit to Karen's Whimsy.  I used a close-up of a faceted amythest ring for an overlay, and it provided a surprising perspective of depth.

Three Muses - Art in the Round

Not much time for "arting" this week, but great family time with a visit from my daughter, grandson, and niece..   I think this image is by Csaba Markus, but my art is not the only thing that's been going round in circles this week!!     Thanks for stopping by!

Take a Word - Turquoise

I've had house guests for a week, and computer time has been limited.  It seems I first posted this at the Three Muses!!  Thank heavens for good friends (Marie) who saved me and deleted it.  Here it is, hopefully in the right spot, for this week's Take a Word turquoise challenge.   If I've confused anyone, mea culpa!!

Collage Obsession - Skating

Kaylene has chosen the challenge this week at Collage Obsession, and our art is to feature a sport.  Since it's COLD outside, I chose skating.   My vintage skaters are courtesy of Miles Beyond the Moon (thanks much).   Thanks for stopping by!

Take a Word - ATCs

These garden musicians, and the botanical background are from Flickr Collage Images.   I haven't done ATCs in a while.  It was sort of fun to think small again!

If I'd been born 15 minutes later I'd have been a Valentine myself!   This was a fun challenge. Thanks to the ladies of Sunday Postcard!!   (Image is from Flickr Collage Images)

Three Muses - Torso

I've always admired women whose shape is like that of this torso.   The sands in my personal hourglass tended to run to the bottom!

Collage Obsession - Tangerine

Tangerine is the challenge at Collage Obsession.   This piece (credit to Csaba Markus) is a rather pale tangerine, but secrets lie within!

Take a Word - Coffee

Remember when ladies were taught to lift the little finger when they held a cup?   I especially remember my grandmother delicately holding a cup just as this lady is holding hers.   Remember when a lady waited for a gentleman to open doors for her?....when a gentleman always walked on the street side of the sidewalk? ....  when your date always came to the door to pick you up? .... when a lady crossed her legs only at the ankles?... and, for that matter, when young people got married BEFORE they lived together?  Ahhh, those were the days!

Sunday Postcard - Classic Movie

My favorite classic movie of all time!   Gable was SO macho (sigh)!
