Three Muses - Wings, Things & Crowns

I went for a crown.  The background in this piece is a freebie from Somerset Studios magazine, and there are some bits of Crowabout and Fidlette.  The "princess" is my own sketch inspired by cybersurfing...sketched using watercolor, Prismacolor pencils, and markers, scanned, and merged with digital bits. The Dr. Seuss quote seemed fitting. This was such fun.  Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate your comments.

Take A Word - Beauty

Mother Nature blesses us with beauty in all seasons, but my favorite is autumn in my part of the world.  Everywhere the eye falls is a vignette of beauty. The colors are spectacular and the air is crisp and clear.  Autumn evokes fond memories of wood fires, apple barns, harvest dinners,  hayrides, weiner roasts, and "punkin" pie!!  .....but then there are sunsets, sunrises, storm clouds, roses, freshly-mowed grass, cardinals in snow, rainbows, babies....well, you get the idea.  Beauty is everywhere, if only we take the time to see it.  I hope you take time to see the beauty in your world today.  Thanks for stopping by!

Three Muses - Moo Card

These small bits of art are always a challenge.  Credit for background to Astrid McLean, and for the image to Joseph Karl Stieler.  For some reason, the "blue" part of Ann's challenge completely escaped me, and there's no blue here.  Mea culpa.  It was a busy week, and I closed on the sale of my old house.  YAY!
I appreciate your comments.

Take a Word - The Sea

My mother "blessed" me with a fear of water, but I love to sit at seaside and listen to the lapping of the waves, or look out over the sea at night when the moon and starshine reflect on the water.  It gives me such a feeling of peace and serenity.  I've tried to capture that feeling here.   The words, of course, are from Don McLean's "Starry Starry Night".  Check this YouTube for Van Gogh paintings accompanied by the song.  Beautiful.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkvLq0TYiwI

Three Muses - Kite

I decided to sketch my entry for my kite challenge.  The clouds and snail are credit to Natalie Designs at Scrapbook Graphics, trees are Googled.  I sketched my little girl and her kite on plain paper, scanned them into a file, extracted the background and made them a PNG file, then superimposed it on the background.  Time consuming, but great fun!   Thanks for looking.

Take a Word - Vintage Beauty

This is a piece I did for the Digitalmania challenge in the style of Michele Caplan.   Since she IS a true vintage beauty, I thought she answered the Take a Word challenge as well.  The image is from the Lost Gallery (with thanks), and the rest is cybersurfed.  Thanks for having a look!  I appreciate your comments.

Three Muses - Transport

Ann has chosen "transport" for our theme this week.  This little fellow (compliments of Land of Nod) is well dressed for an outing on his favorite form of transport.   The Einstein quote is certainly good advice!!  Thanks for stopping by!
