Did you know?

For those of you who did not know, our fellow artist, Lizbeth http://lizbethem.blogspot.com experienced a fall and broken bones which will require her to be in a rehab facility for some time.  I know you will all want to send good thoughts and prayers Lizbeth's way during her recovery.
Here's Lizbeth's email address to send good wishes lizbethem@comcast.net

Three Muses - Zetti

It's always fun to do the quirky characters that we identify with zetti art (ala Teesha Moore), however I can never seem to accomplish the wonderful "busy-ness" of her pages digitally.   Thanks for stopping by!

Take a Word - Bubbles

This magical seaside moment was created with background and bubbles compliments of Finecrafted Designs, and the wee bubble-makers are compliments of Jesse Wilcox-Smith.  Fun challenge, Marie!

Take a Word - Sewing

There are bits and pieces here from various artists at Scrapbookgraphics -- Plum Tuckered, Natalie Designs, BGD, Flergs, and Jessica.   It was fun picking and choosing elements for this piece!  Thanks for having a look!

Three Muses - Quote

I love quotes, and this one is so true it deserved to be featured!!  I'm not sure I'd call the man an expert, however, but rather a master manipulator.  In my working career, it seemed to me men are much more adept at this than women.  I, on the other hand, am probably known to be terminally blunt.  I think there is never a doubt what I mean to say!  Oh (sigh), I'm sure somewhere there is a happy medium!

Take a Word - Mother

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.  So much of who we are has to do with the influence of our mothers.   My mother was a tiny dynamo who loved to have her hands in the soil, and could make ANYTHING grow!  Her garden was always weeded and manicured, and edged with flowers.  Aside from her garden, she kept borrowing "patches" from my Dad's fields.  She had a pumpkin patch, a blackberry patch, a strawberry patch, a sweet corn patch, and my father used to say if he let her she'd turn the entire farm into patches!   Somewhere up there among the angels, I'm sure she's asking God if he doesn't need a sweet potato patch or some such!

Three Muses - Music Sleeve

This week's challenge just happened to coincide with a project I just finished for my local art group.  It's an emory board sleeve.  The sleeve is only 1 inch x 4 1/4 inches, so it was difficult to get a sharp photo, but I thought some of you might like to try it. I've made a dozen of them for tuck-in gifts.   Background is aged sheet music and a googled keyboard.  The superimposed newspaper diva is one of my sketches in the style of  Julie Nutting .  The template for the sleeve can be found at http://stampington.com/ Tempting Templates. Thanks for indulging me!  Your comments are appreciated.

Take a Word - Stone Angels

I've always loved the faces of cemetery stone angels.  They engender such a sense of serenity and peace.  Even the ones who are weeping or mourning offer a sense of solace.  I once knew a lady whose hobby was visiting cemeteries and photographing stone angels.  She had an album of incredibly beautiful photos which she shared with me.  That was many years ago, but I still remember the lovely scenes she'd captured.  I'm looking forward to seeing all the stone angels at Take-a-Word this week.
