Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. So much of who we are has to do with the influence of our mothers. My mother was a tiny dynamo who loved to have her hands in the soil, and could make ANYTHING grow! Her garden was always weeded and manicured, and edged with flowers. Aside from her garden, she kept borrowing "patches" from my Dad's fields. She had a pumpkin patch, a blackberry patch, a strawberry patch, a sweet corn patch, and my father used to say if he let her she'd turn the entire farm into patches! Somewhere up there among the angels, I'm sure she's asking God if he doesn't need a sweet potato patch or some such!
