Take a Word - Turquoise
WAITING FOR THE TAXI. Her bag is packed, she's on her way. She won't be back for many a day. The John Denver song lyrics come to mind....but I doubt she's leaving on a jet plane, since she's a bit before their time! Anyway, I wish her a happy trip....and some new color in her life! Background credit to Finecrafted Designs; image credit to Land of Nod.
Digital Whisper - Ships
Our challenge is "Ships" at Digital Whisper. My background is a part of an 1800's painting and I imported the sailing vessel from Google. The lyrics are part of a Garth Brooks' song "Sail My Vessel". If you would like to read them in their entirety, check here http://www.songlyrics.com/garth-brooks/sail-my-vessel-lyrics/ They are especially meaningful to me. Thank you for your visit.

Three Muses - Door
MIXED MESSAGES! Surely this door has a story to tell. Once it's sign welcomed all visitors; now they're warned to keep out. What happened between welcome and warning? Who was the last to lift the knocker now rusted and forlorn? Old houses, old doors, old windows always fascinate me. They leave me wondering what stories they could tell of the lives they shuttered; what hopes, fears, laughter, and tears. To me they're like the cliff dwellings of the ancients, holding their secrets forever, while new generations live out their stories behind new doors and windows in the relentless march of time. Thanks for taking time to share my fascination.

Take a Word - Frame
GOING, going, gone. The challenge is to feature a frame or frames. With the repetitive framing, I tried to achieve the effect of the young lady on her way down that long and winding road to fame and fortune. Thank you for stopping by!

Three Muses - Vintage
I enjoy vintage collage a great deal. This pensive girl was a vintage free image, as was the background. I did a bit of tinting here and there. Thank you for stopping by, and taking the time to comment.
Dezinaworld - Poverty
The theme this week is "Poverty". The image (which bespeaks poverty to me) is from Dr. X's Free Association, the background photo was taken by my granddaughter, who loves to photograph abandoned buildings. Thanks for visiting. I appreciate your comments.

Digital Whisper - Windowsill
There's something about the single poppy in the bottle in the window that speaks for the tenant there. It says "I still believe in beauty. I still have hope. I am a survivor!" We can each write our story for the poppy in the jar. Thanks for indulging me!
Take a Word - Beauty
My mind was boggled by this topic. So many choices! Sunrise, sunset, a cardinal in snow, a baby's smile, morning mist, autumn splendor, storm clouds on the horizon, flowering trees of Spring, and on and on my mind wandered. But always my heart remembers the beauty of the fields of home at autumn harvest, God's bounty displayed in all its glory (just as in the words of the old hymn).....and the smiling faces of my parents, full of love and welcome. Home. My belonging place.

Digital Whisper - Piano
The wonderful aged piano keys and the pensive lady were cybersurfed. Both look as if they have stories to tell. Thank you for visiting my blog today!
Take a Word - Black and White
Normally, I can never resist the urge to put a touch of red in a black and white piece, but this time I resisted! The image and background are freebies. Thanks for stopping by!
