Abraham Lincoln said words to the effect that we're only as happy as we decide to be.   I think he's probably right.  We need to dwell on things for which we're grateful, and keep an awareness of what's really important in life.  Great choice of challenge, Marie!

The most welcome flower of Spring---tulips.  In Oregon, where my daughter lives, there are fields of tulips that take one's breath away with their carpet of color and beauty.  Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your visit and your comments.

The background here is from an envelope my daughter sent me, the tiptoer body is a borrowed clip art, the face is a sketch by me, the wig from my software.   What I love most of all about digital art is drawing together bits and pieces and creating new scenarios.  This was great fun.

Some of the peculiar desert formations in the American West have always reminded me of the phrase "sands of time", in that they seem to speak of eons and eons ago.   Who knows what lies buried in the sands of time?

Diital Whisper = Fireworks

Fireworks always dredge up childhood memories, when we used to drive to a nearby town where we'd spread blankets on the grass and watch the magic of fireworks in the prairie sky.  While beautiful, fireworks in the city are never quite the same, though they still have their own touch of magic.  This is fireworks over my city, with a couple of filters and a superimposed silhouette.   Happy Independence Day everyone!
