One of my mother's favorite songs was "The Little Brown Church in the Vale". When she sang it, it always conjured up mental images of a quaint little chapel snuggled amidst trees, like the one above. It's much like the church of MY childhood, except my little roadside church was white. These little country churches were the heart of the community. Sadly, they are becoming things of the past. It is pleasant to remember the ticking of the old wall clock as the minister brought his message of hope and love.....a balm to the spirit.

I don't think I know the song but would love to hear it. Chris mentioned above that she found it on YouTube so that would be worth looking into. Your little brown church and couple are exquisite, Bev. So beautiful. I always love seeing your memories in print. As I often say - you really take us there.
What a lovely old-fashioned song and your art is perfect for it!
I don't know the song lyrics, Bev, but you have introduced them and then illustrate them exquisitely my friend. A standing ovation from this corner.

How romantic walking in the snow with your love! Perfect piece Bev! Love, Jamie
This is so beautiful and full of spirit. You know, this reminds me of Finland. Maybe it's the snow, I donät know. But I am really touched, thank you for the experience!
