Did you ever pass an abandoned house, and notice flowers still growing there? Did you wonder who planted those flowers, and what their life was like when they lived there? The abandoned house is compliments of Swainboat, the overlay is by Lenabem-Anna (thanks to both), and the bit of poetry is my own. Thank you for your comments.
Ah!
ReplyDeleteLovely subtle piece!
This touched a nerve with me, Bev. My sister Pat and brother Bill were great gardeners and they couldn't bear to dispose of the cuttings so they would propagate new plants from them and give them away. Years on with both of them gone I can walk through my garden and recognize all the plants that originally came from their gardens. It's like having a piece of them here still. I have to admit that your beautiful picture and verse brought a tear to my eye. You have a way of making your artwork so real that it draws us in.
ReplyDeleteI love when you find "old houses" Bev...I find them so interesting and we have so many dotted along the Trans Canada Highway. I always try to imagine who could have possibly lived there and what was there life like, as I do with this house. Yes, so many times we do see wildflowers growing, as a sign that life was there and was good. Hugs, Gayle.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely, meaningful piece. I love the tiny touch of violet in all the pale color.
