June at So Artful Challenges has given us the theme of "fruity". Some of my happiest childhood memories include autumn trips to the apple barns where my mother purchased her apples for canning for the winter. Autumn and the smell of apple barns are forever entangled in my memory. Credit for my background to Donna Miller, the apple was googled, and the girl is Flickr free collage image.
Love this, Bev! Your heartwarming story brought back a lot of fond memories for me too. When the kids were small, we'd take them to the orchard every fall - good times! Hugs xoxo
ReplyDeleteGreat story, Bev. In school vacation time, my mother took us to the homes of two of her sisters where there were commercial apple orchards and also stone fruit. Nothing tastes like fruit fresh off the tree. I am ashamed to say that my take on the challenge is less refined than yours!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your reminiscences and your picture is lovely.
She's lovely and sits so well on her apple! Thanks for sharing your treasured childhood memories...
