Three Muses - Bird
On cool nights when I can have my window open, I sometimes hear the soft hoot of an owl in the grove of trees beside my home. I'm sure he is quite as handsome as this fellow!

Sunday Postcard - Gypsies
Lyrics of the popular song by Cher come to mind. I loved that song! Here's a verse:
"Gypsy's, tramps, and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us gypsy's, tramps, and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down"
"Gypsy's, tramps, and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us gypsy's, tramps, and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down"
Digital Whisper - Deep Blue Sea
The wanton water leaps in sport,
And rattles down the pebbly shore;
The dolphin wheels, the sea-cow snorts,
And unseen mermaids' pearly song
Comes bubbling up, the weeds among.
Fling broad the sail, dip deep the oar:
To sea, to sea! The calm is o'er.
From the poem: "To Sea" by Thomas Lovell Beddoes

Pink is the color of choice this week at Digital Whisper. Here's my pink! Image from Pinterest, background Astrid MacLean, other elements my stash.
Sunday Postcard - Nursery Rhyme
Humpty was a dashing fellow
Everyone knew him well
Somehow he wasn't quite the same
After he tumbled and fell.
Everyone knew him well
Somehow he wasn't quite the same
After he tumbled and fell.

Take a Word - Home
Home for me is that rich farmland of middle Illinois where the rows of corn and soybeans seem to reach to infinity such as in the scene above. I've superimposed a photo of the little house where I spent my childhood and photos of my parents smiling down. It is the very heart of America, my belonging place.
