Three Muses - Blue Bottle Tree

The legend of the blue bottle trees is one of my favorite stories, and I couldn't resist repeating it for this challenge. Kathryn Wyndham, long a member of Storytellers, Inc., is a master storyteller. Spinning tales in her soft, southern drawl, she tells the story of the ladies of Gees Bend, who make beautiful quilts; the days of race riots in Selma; and of her coffin, which has been lovingly constructed by a long-time family friend, which sits in the back of her garage awaiting the time she'll need it. She tells of Jeffrey, the resident ghost with whom she shares her home, and shares many colorful stories of her experiences as a girl reporter. It's my pleasure to introduce you to Kathryn Tucker Wyndham, in case you've not met her!

  2. Oh I just love this one Bev and the story....my kind of story!! It reminded me of the movie "Because of Winn Dixie" I loved that movie, and it reminded me of the old lady played by Cicily Tyson...I love her...she had a bottle tree and she was explaining why she had it to the girl. Such a sweet movie and book! Great work!!

  11. This brought me back to long summer days in my grandmother's flower garden. She had several bottle trees. My Mother would never have one, but I have had a few. We used all different colored bottles. Here at the local gardens we have a bottle house. It is incredible. Thanks for the great challenge and I love your bottle tree with the spirits.
