Three Muses - Wings

So many ways we could go with Marie's theme of "wings" this week. I finally settled on the Monarchs, whose fragile wings carry them for so many miles in their migratory experience. One of nature's phenomena, for sure! The lady is one of Harrison Fisher's with a bit of rearrangement of color; the Monarchs are cybersurfed. Thanks for looking, blog friends!

  1. Nothing manufactured by man can compete with nature where a delicate butterfly is able to survive a 3,000 mile flight to warmer climes. Bev, I love your thoughtful piece on the life of the monarch. The image you have chosen is beautiful and the whole effect is perfectly crafted.

  3. Hey Bev, if there is not an award for the cleverest comment on the blogs, I am inventing one. Your comment on Ann's "wings" picture is hilarious and so, so clever.

  6. Lovely art piece…

The monarch butterfly has a special place in my heart.
I have a few patches of milkweed in my backfield so
that they can lay there eggs on them.
I am rewarded each September with a slew of winged beauties.

Ps... a post on my blog about

  14. Beautiful, Bev! I love butterflies so much, and you have created a wonderful homage to the Monarchs here! The butterfly migrations are absolutely amazing: this summer we have had here in Finland big flocks of Admirals (is this the right word in English?) who have flown here all the way across the sea!
