Three Muses - Gypsy

My mother grew up in Southern Illinois.  She used to tell stories of gypsies who camped in the river bottoms below her home.  She said her father used to take her and her brothers and sisters for buggy rides to the gypsy camp, where he liked to talk and/or trade horses with the men.   She remembered the camps as being busy and happy places, with women busy about the campfires, and the children running and playing.  I wish I remembered more of her stories.   The newspaper article background above was googled, and the gypsy girl is from Goddess Life via Pinterest.  Thanks for your visit!

  2. Love her rich attire, Bev, such a contrast to the frilly and outrageous outfits of the so-called 'gypsies of today! A beautiful piece!
