When I saw the challenge, I thought SOME ENCHANTED EVENING, and it ended up being a castle in the mists. I love old castles. I'm convinced they're all enchanted, aren't you? Textures from Skeletalmess. Bodiam Castle from Liam's Old Books.
All I can think about on this very hot night is that somewhere it is cool. I have been seeing all the mermaids in their cool haunts and now you have given me mists so beautiful I just want to be there. Beautiful work, Bev.
That's such a beautiful picture Bev... I agree with you - castles are enchanted places. Or should that be enchanting? I love the special effects you've used - clever and creative!
Gorgeous artwork...beautifully created. I thought about the same song, Bev, but I couldn't remember all the words. Hope your memory is better than mine...
"Some enchanted evening, when you find your true love" has been replaying in my brain all week. It's the only line I can remember from the song from "South Pacific." Castles are definitely enchanting. I have yet to see one in person. Great take on the theme.
Personally I can't go anywhere near a castle without disappearing into some sort of fantasy world dreaming of love trysts and battles and magicians! I used to work almost next door to one of England's finest. The town where I live had a castle once upon a time but all that's left now is a doorway and the only dragons passing through carry passengers on rail connections!
There's a hoary old joke about monks chanting their morning prayers with the mantra "morning". All of a sudden the abbot stopped the chanting and cried "Someone chanted evening". Boom boom.
Enchanting for sure!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant scene Bev.
