Portrait of Henry VIII by Hans Holbein the Younger, lyric with which we're all familiar, credit for drapes to Tangie Baxter at Scrapbookgraphics. I think if Henry VIII were around today, he'd surely be on a football team somewhere! Thanks to Mark for a fun challenge, and thanks blog friends for your visit!
Not a very nice gentleman but a great piece of art...well done!

ReplyDeleteWhat fun, poor Henry just could not make up his mind.
ReplyDelete'And every one was an 'Enery!
ReplyDeleteShe wouldn't have a Willie or a Sam.
I'm the 8th. old man named 'Enery,

BIG smile, Bev. (As I sing along...)
ReplyDeleteAnd every one was an En-er-ree, couldn't be a Willie or a Sam. I'm En-er-ee the eighth I am, En-er-ree the eight I am."
ReplyDeleteI love that old English music hall song and I know all the words without looking them up!! This is a delicious take on gentlemen, Bev. Great artwork with a sense of humour and a smidgeon of nostalgio thrown in.
Despite of being a king I don't think the man of the portrait could be called a gentleman, however, Henry the eighth husband of a cheerful widow certainly was... :)
ReplyDeleteLovely picture, Bev. Never heard of Henry, might have to catch up a little with english music :)
ReplyDeletea beautiful piece of art!
ReplyDeleteFab piece Bev!
ReplyDeleteA fine figure of a man, despite his temprament. Great collage, Bev!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Since I am reading Wolf Hall I am in a Tudor mood these days.
ReplyDeleteNow you have us all singing. Does that mean we're all around the same age? :O)
ReplyDeleteall hail, wonderful interpretation!
ReplyDeleteLove it. I don't know if he would be considered a gentleman by our standards. But back then NOONE would argue with him in his time!
