Aside from helping my father on the farm, she had her own little egg business on the side, for which she kept a separate bank account and separate books! She was feisty and independent. The news clipping is an actual clipping that appeared in the paper many years ago describing our farm. Thanks for allowing me a trip down memory lane! I should add that the images are freebies from the Vintage Moth, and the egg basket is googled.

Theme Thursday - Birds
I swear, my mother's favorite bird was a chicken! ReplyDeleteBev, first off - your piece is gorgeous. Now, I'll bet your mother didn't have a lot of art time in her daily schedule. I am overwhelmed by the amount of work your parents undertook each day! All those cows and chickens. I came from a small farm, but my dad had a job in town. Our chickens sometimes had names but they often ended up in the pot. Thank you for your sharing your memories. I love this sharing group of new and old international internet friends. You all really brighten my day.
