When my mother was born, women could not vote. She was 13 when the 19th Amendment was ratified. She took her privilege seriously, and in my memory never missed an election. no matter that my father dutifully cancelled her vote every time, which made for some spirited discussions in our house! Great sacrifices were made to assure our right to vote. We should not take them lightly.
I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly, Bev. Here in Oz we don't have a choice. It is compulsory for everyone over 18 years to enrol to vote and it is compulsory to vote!! Don't vote, get fined. (Love your house with the "gone to voter" tag on the door).
ReplyDeleteI love your house Bev, and the fact you've gone off to vote, and I love the sentiments too.
ReplyDeleteJust hope everyone votes for the right person!
Love this out and the saying so timly! Great work love it!
