Three Muses - Mail Art

This piece is done in the style (I hope) of Nick Bantock's quirky and clever mail art.    If you're not familiar with it, check out his book "Urgent, 2nd Class".

  1. Your envelope is unique, Bev. Teenagers in Brazil say "animal!" when something is cool and powerful. So, animal!

  2. This just blows me away! I love the wonderful layering of two styles. The pencil sketches always make my heart skip a beat, and the wonderful hand writing. The next layer of fantasy animals is just amazing and I can hardly wait to check out the book you referred. This is outstanding!

  15. Fantastic Bantockian mail art, Bev. You were the one who introduced me to it and the idea of mail art many moons ago. I just love the elephant who is so insecure about his own trumpeting he has to use an "aid". Great artwork. Take a bow.

I've noticed a certain trend in your art lately that deals with traveling. I'll bet you need a change in scenery:) I really like this and I'm going to have to check this fellow artist out.

  22. Bev, I'm blown away by this exquisite mail art envelope, my friend. I'm loving your move towards surreal, it really suits you. By the way, I can almost hear that elephant's musical roar and the giraffe's reply. Outstanding art for which there is very loud applause from my corner.
