This is a sort of somber "take" on this week's challenge. I've been having a bit of trouble communicating with my muse this week. I think she's pouting because, after one warm, sunny day, we're back to rain and chilly. I know just how she feels. I hope the sun's shining in your world, blog friends. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh I feel just like you, cold, chilly, hope for the sun AGAIN!!!
ReplyDeleteYour lady seems to be the same! Love your creation.
Pat
I had the same feeling to last week Bev. My intention was to come back sooner. Now I think, our muses went away together.
ReplyDeleteBut anyway....tomorrow is a new day and hopefully with a LOT of sunshine for you !

I DO love your image !!! I like that atmosphere of that great Victorian homes.

Your design is very mysterious, well done.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful use of imagery to convey this era Bev. I think she is stunning and quiet. A lovely reflective piece!
ReplyDeleteI know just how she feels too...I'd like to tell you that things are looking up but it just ain't so. The elements you have chosen for this are lovely Bev...I hope the sun shine on you soon.
ReplyDeleteI still think it is fabulous. Wonderful depiction.
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of sunshine with my comments, Bev! wonderful take on the theme!
ReplyDeleteThis gal's a bit ghosty or Could it be Lizzie Bordon?
ReplyDeleteThis is really good Bev, I like it!
Paulette
I like it though!!!
ReplyDeleteThis may be sombre but the imagery is excellent, Bev. Today is not a happy day here, we had a death in the family yesterday and will be leaving in the next day or two to be with the rest of the family.
ReplyDeleteI think reflective is a kinder word. I really like it Bev. it holds that Victorian elegance of the houses, the railings and the woman. Great piece of work. xx
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me your Muse is just fine, Bev, only reacting to the crappy weather. This is a beautiful depiction of the somber side of the Victorian era.
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of eery, you captured the mood so well!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love this! The juxtaposition is wonderful. Great imagery.
ReplyDeleteFantastic piece, Bev! She is somber looking but very Victorian :)
ReplyDeleteDark? Yes, but very much of the period. I've always loved those wrought iron railings.
ReplyDeleteI think she's pouting because coats for ladies have not yet been 'taken off' and she's having to do with the flimsy shawl. Hope she doesn't catch that chill! Hope your Muse is back in the picture soon my friend.
ReplyDeleteI think that my Muse is on vacation with yours, Bev! We, too, have one day of sun followed by a few days of dreary gray skies or precipitation. It's been a long winter and a cold, slow spring. Hang in! She'll be back soon!!!! Hugs, Terri xoxox
ReplyDeleteYes, she's a little gloomy, but it suits to the victorian climate.
ReplyDeleteBut it's so elegant, Bev. And what a clever approach.
ReplyDeleteBev, I think your Muse is hovering somewhere close by because this is a beautiful piece. I love the idea of the elegant, Victorian lady frozen in bronze (or perhaps gold). A moment in time captured so creatively. Fantastic artwork.
ReplyDeleteLove how you do somber! I know what you mean about the weather. Last Sunday I was working in the yard with capri's and a short sleeved T-shirt, and woke up to frost! Had a scary storm come through and count ourselves lucky, to have not lost trees and power for days like some around here have. So tired of the wind and gloom. Today is glorious! Sending you some warm sunny vibes my friend!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like London on a gloomy day. I like the iron fence detail you used.
